Executive Director ADS Mt. Kenya
Rachel Maina is the Executive Director of the Anglican Development Services (ADS) Mt. Kenya region. She possesses a rich background in Finance and Accounting with great exposure to development work for over a decade.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, (Finance) from KCA University and Diploma in Accountancy from The Technical University of Kenya. She possesses hands-on knowledge and skills in Financial management, Project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as Human Resource management. She is passionate about Social Entrepreneurship working with vulnerable communities on Social-Economic strengthening and resilience-building initiatives.
As the Executive Director, Rachel provides overall team leadership at ADS Mt. Kenya, and on behalf of the Board of directors, she will lead in the implementation of appropriate strategies, plans, and procedures to ensure achievement of the ADS Mt. Kenya’s Vision and Mission. In addition, she will ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and grant agreements while ensuring the quality implementation of programs as designed.
Prior to being appointed Executive Director in March 2023, Rachel worked as the Finance and Administration Manager at ADS Mt. Kenya as well as an Accountant with the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK). She is skilled in Cash Flow, Stakeholder Management, Corporate Finance, Account Reconciliation, Accounting, and Asset Management. Rachel teamed up in developing best-practice Finance infrastructure with robust controls that enhanced efficiencies, reduced risk, and ensured trustee and donor confidence in the distribution of funds. She steered in building trusted relationships and led teams to develop aligned goals, solve problems and drive a pro-active culture in ever-changing, fast-paced environments.
She is an accomplished Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA K) registered by ICPAK and passionate about environmental conservation and enhancement of livelihood diversification in ensuring wholesomeness in the communities that ADS Mt Kenya serves.
